What made you decide to study abroad?（なぜ留学しようと思いましたか？）

I decided to study abroad because I wanted to explore new cultures and build friendships with people from around the world. As a medical student, I realized that improving my English would be crucial for my studies and future career. English is widely spoken globally, and I saw studying abroad as a chance to immerse myself in the language while experiencing life in a new country like the Philippines. Connecting with diverse people and learning about their perspectives has always fascinated me, and I believed CWA would offer the perfect environment to achieve this.

新しい文化を探究し、世界中の人々と友達になりたかったので留学を決めました。医学を学んでいる私にとって、英語のスキル向上は勉強や将来のキャリアに欠かせません。英語は世界中で広く使われる言語でフィリピンの様な新しい国での生活を体験しながら学ぶのは絶好の機会だと感じました。さまざまな視点を持つ人と繋がり、彼らの文化を学ぶことに魅力を感じました。CWAはそのための理想的な環境を提供してくれると思いました。

Why did you choose CWA?

I compared several language schools and chose CWA because it stood out for its quality programs and welcoming environment in Cebu. I discovered CWA through TikTok, where I watched exciting reviews and videos showcasing its vibrant classes. What really drew me was the opportunity to learn in a diverse setting with students from different backgrounds, like my Taiwanese and Japanese roommates, which made CWA the ideal choice for me.

How have you grown or changed through studying abroad?

Studying at CWA has boosted my confidence in speaking English. the friendly teachers and diverse classmates encouraged me to open up. Now, I comfortably chat with people from various countries, like during our evening lobby sessions from 5 PM to midnight. My grammar was challenging at first, but I’ve improved significantly, especially after my teacher praised my progress, saying, “I’m proud of you, your English has improved.” This experience has made me more outgoing and ready for global opportunities.

CWAでの英語学習は、話す自信を大きく高めてくれました。親しみやすい教師や多国籍なクラスメートのおかげでよく英語を話せる様になりました。今では夕方5時から深夜12時までのロビーで日本人や台湾人など多国籍の生徒と会話を楽しむことができました。また、先生は私に英語が上達したと言ってくれた時はとても嬉しかったです。

How was the language school and your accommodation?

CWA’s facilities are excellent, with a gym and swimming pool available during free time, which made studying here enjoyable. The teachers are friendly, approachable, and make classes fun by encouraging interaction. The group classes are a highlight because they allow me to practice English with classmates from different nationalities, like my Taiwanese and Japanese roommates. The dormitory is comfortable and well-maintained, creating a great environment for both studying and relaxing. The nearby SM Mall and Grab transportation made life convenient, allowing me to shop or travel easily around Cebu.

CWAの施設は素晴らしく、ジムやプールが自由時間に使えて、楽しく過ごす事ができたと思います。教師は親しみやすく、グループ授業では台湾や日本のルームメイトなどさまざまな国籍のクラスメイトと英語を練習する事ができるのでとても最高でした。休み時間には自分の部屋で休む事もあります。近くのSMモールやGrabを使った移動も便利でセブでの生活を満喫する事ができました。

How did you study English?

I used a mix of methods to improve my English. Before coming to CWA, I subscribed to an online language-learning app, which helped me build a foundation. At CWA, I focused on group classes and weekly level tests to track my progress. Grammar was the hardest part for me, but speaking came naturally, especially in group discussions. I practiced daily by talking with classmates in the lobby, which helped me get used to different accents. I also asked teachers questions during lessons and reviewed material during self-study. This combination of structured classes and casual practice has been very effective for preparing for the IELTS test.

CWAに来る前はオンラインの英語学習アプリに登録して英語を勉強していました。CWAではグループ授業や毎週のレベルテストで進捗を確認しました。文法は私にとってむずしかったですが会話は自然にできました。将来アイエルツを受けるたいと考えているので少しでもそれの準備ができたら良いと思っています。

What is the most memorable experience from your study abroad?

One of my favorite memories was sharing Saudi Arabian culture with classmates. I offered them Saudi coffee, but some didn’t enjoy it, which we laughed about together! Another unforgettable experience was exploring Cebu’s islands during holidays. Visiting these places was exciting and showed me how vibrant Cebu is. Interacting with students from different backgrounds, like my Taiwanese and Japanese roommates, and practicing English in the lobby till midnight were also highlights that made my time at CWA truly special.

他の国の友人にサウジアラビアのお茶を紹介しました。彼らの口には合わなかったですが彼らにとっても良い経験になり面白かったです。また休日にはセブのさまざまな場所に訪れました。台湾や日本人のルームメイトと交流したり、12時までロビーで英語で会話を楽しんだ事もCWAでの時間特別なものにしてくれました。

The friendly teachers, great facilities like the gym and pool, and diverse classmates make studying English fun and rewarding.
